NCCR Climate (PLANT/SOIL)
I’m generally interested in different fields of agricultural sciences, including
the complex interactions between humans, animals, plants, soil and the abiotic environment.
Most of all, for me, plants have been always very fascinating.
Therefore, I focused my agricultural studies on plant production and plant sciences, from a global scale to a sub-cellular level.
For my Ph.D. thesis I contribute to a multi-year field experiment trying to understand:
• Drought response of temperate grasslands with special focus on shifts in the water sourcing and root distribution
• Stable isotopes (as methodological approach) in the hydrological cycle (Soil-plant-atmosphere continuum)
• Effects of soil physical properties on the isotope composition of soil water
